I, WARREN SNOWDON, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, make this Determination under subsection 5C (1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.

1              Name of Determination
                This Determination is the Veterans’ Entitlements (Warlike Service — Operation Paladin) Determination 2011.
2              Commencement
                This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
3              Definition
                In this Determination:
ADF means the Australian Defence Force.
4              Warlike service
                For subsection 5C (1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, service in an operation mentioned in Schedule 1 is warlike service if the service:
                (a)    is in an area of operation mentioned in Schedule 1; and
               (b)    occurs during a period mentioned in Schedule 1.
