1 Name of Determination
This Determination is the Social Security (Exempt Lump Sum) (Stolen Wages Reparation Scheme WA) (DIISRTE) Determination 2012.
2 Commencement
This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Definitions
In this Determination:
Act means the Social Security Act 1991.
Stolen Wages Reparation Scheme WA payment means a one-off lump sum ex gratia payment of $2,000 paid by the Western Australian Department of Indigenous Affairs under the Stolen Wages Reparation Scheme WA which was announced by the Government of Western Australia on 7 March 2012.
4 Amount or class of amounts
If a person receives a Stolen Wages Reparation Scheme WA payment, the amount of that payment received by the person is an exempt lump sum for the purposes of paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Act, from the date that the amount was received.
[1] This Determination has effect in relation to provisions of the Social Security Act 1991 in so far as they relate to matters for which the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science and Research, has responsibility under the Administrative Arrangements Order.
