MACQUARIE ISLAND TOOTHFISH FISHERY TOTAL ALLOWABLE CATCH DETERMINATION 2012
 
                                                                                                                                                           
 
The AUSTRALIAN FISHERIES MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY makes the following Determination pursuant to subsection 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 under section 11 of the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006.

Citation
1.   This Determination may be cited as the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Total Allowable Catch Determination 2012.
 
Commencement
2.   This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
 
 
Cessation
3.   This Determination ceases on 14 April 2013 unless earlier revoked. 
Interpretation
4.   A term used in this Determination that is defined for the purposes of the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006 has the same meaning in this Determination as it has in that Plan.
Note:               1.    Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this Determination.
Determination of total allowable catch
5.   The total allowable catch for target species and catch limits for other species in the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery for the 2012/2013 season commencing on 15 April 2012 and ending on 14 April 2013 are:
Target species:
Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides):         455 tonnes
Other species:
Combined catch limit for all other species:                   200 tonnes
Singular catch limit for any one other species:             50 tonnes
Revocation of previous Determinations
6.   This Determination revokes the following Determinations: 
 
Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006 – MITF 2007/2008 TAC D2 Determination Total Allowable Catch Determination – 2007/2008 Season;
 
Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006- Determination No. MITF TAC D3 – Total Allowable Catch Determination – 2008/2009 Season;
 
Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006- Determination No. MTIF TAC D4 – Total Allowable Catch Determination – 2009/2010 Season; and
 
Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006- Determination No. MITF TAC D5 - Total Allowable Catch Determination – 2010/2011 Season.
