On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

This AD applies to all PZL M18 and M18A aircraft fitted with DGAC-Spain STC Nos. 83-S, 87-S, 88-S, 89-S, 101-S, 102-S and 130-S.
Action in accordance with EASA Emergency AD 2006-0229-E (Corrected) effective 28 July 2006.

Aircraft fitted with abovementioned STCs have various operational limitations at the respective Aircraft Flight Manual Supplements. Subsequent to an investigation of an accident of an M18A, which occurred in Spain on 4 September 2005, by the Spanish Civil Aviation Accidents and Incidents Investigation Commission, which noted the differences in operational limitations, EASA has decided to standardise the limitations and approved AFM Supplement No. 16 to Aircraft Flight Manual of PZL M18 ”Dromader”, published by PZL, referenced in TCDS EASA.A.056.
