Approval — to conduct flight tests for a training endorsement mentioned in Table 61.1235 of CASR 1998
1          Duration
                 This instrument:
(a)   commences on the day of registration; and
(b)   expires at the end of June 2016, as if it had been repealed by another instrument.
2          Definitions
AGL means above ground level.
ft means feet.
Instructor Rating Flight Test means a flight test conducted under Appendix T.1 of the Manual of Standards Part 61 (the MOS).
low-level operations, with regard to flight time experience in Schedule 3, means experience accrued as pilot in command of an aircraft where the predominant operational task required the aircraft to operate below 300 ft AGL for continuous periods.
3          Application
                 This instrument applies to a person who held a delegation mentioned in column 1 of Schedule 1 or column 1 of Schedule 2 immediately before 1 September 2014.
4          Approval
        (1)     Under regulation 61.040 of CASR 1998, I approve a person (the approved person), who held a delegation mentioned in column 1 of Schedule 1 or column 1 of Schedule 2 (the relevant item), to conduct an Instructor Rating Flight Test for the training endorsement or endorsements listed in column 2 for the relevant item in accordance with subregulation 61.245 (3) of CASR 1998.
        (2)     The approval under subsection (1) is subject to the conditions set out in section 5 and any limitations described in column 3 for the relevant item.
Note   The number given to each training endorsement in column 2 of Schedules 1, 2 and 3 is the corresponding item number for that endorsement in Table 61.1235 of CASR 1998.
5          Conditions
        (1)     To conduct a flight test for a training endorsement specified in column 1 of Schedule 3, the approved person must hold, on the day of the flight test, the experience requirements for that item specified in column 2 of Schedule 3.
        (2)     When conducting an Instructor Rating Flight Test, the approved person must comply with all flight test requirements described in Part 61 of CASR 1998, as if he or she were a flight examiner.
        (3)     To meet the specified relevant experience requirements referred to in subclause (1), the approved person must have clear records in his or her pilot log book for each relevant operation showing the date, pilot in command and total flight time.
Note   For the avoidance of doubt, the requirements of regulation 61.1265 are applicable to the approved person.

Has at least 250 hours as pilot in command of the specified type and has at least 50 hours’ flight time training applicants for the specified aircraft type rating in the preceding 3 years

(5)    Type rating training endorsement
For helicopters –
Has at least 150 hours as pilot in command of the specified type and has at least 50 hours’ flight time training applicants for the specified aircraft type rating in the preceding 3 years.

(11)  Low-level rating training endorsement
Has a minimum of 100 hours of flight time in low-level operations, including at least 50 hours of instructional flight time in low-level operations

(18)  Spinning training endorsement
Has at least 100 hours as pilot in command conducting aerobatic operations, including at least 50 hours’ instructional flight time in aerobatic operations

(19)  Aerobatics training endorsement
Has at least 100 hours as pilot in command conducting aerobatic operations, including at least 50 hours’ instructional flight time in aerobatic operations
