Exemption — Requirement for conversion training to be in a Qualified Synthetic Training Device (QSTD)
1          Duration
                 This instrument:
(a)   commences on the day of registration; and
(b)   expires at the end of February 2015, as if it had been repealed by another instrument.
2          Application
                 This exemption applies to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section) Limited, Aviation Reference Number 119145 (the operator), in relation to the B200 aircraft operated by the operator (the aircraft).
3          Exemption from issuing endorsements only after conversion training in a QSTD
                 The operator, and persons holding delegations to issue endorsements under subregulation 5.23 (2) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988) to pilots employed by the operator, are exempt from paragraph 2A.3 of Civil Aviation Order 40.1.0 (the CAO) in relation to the requirement to issue an endorsement to fly the aircraft, after conversion training, only if the training was conducted in a QSTD.
4          Exemption from conversion training in a QSTD
                 The operator, and persons approved by CASA, under paragraph 5.21 (1) (a) of CAR 1988, to give conversion training to pilots employed by the operator are exempt from compliance with paragraphs 2B.2 and 2B.3 of CAO 40.1.0 in relation to the requirement for conversion training for the aircraft to take place in a QSTD.
5          Condition
The conversion training to which sections 3 and 4 apply must be conducted in a B200 aircraft if not conducted in a QSTD.
