ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

No. 16 of 2001

AN ACT to amend the National Honours Act.

[ 27th December. 2001 ]

ENACTED by the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda as
follows -

1. This Act may be cited as the National Honours (Amend- short title.
ment) Act 200 1.

2. The Schedule to the National Honours Act 1998, No. 23 Amendment of
of 1998 is amended as follows - 'Schedule.

(a) in paragraph 2 by the repeal of subparagraph (1)
and the substitution of the following -

"(1) The Most Distinguished Order of the Na-
tion may be awarded to any citizen of Antigua and
Barbuda or to a citizen of any other country who
has rendered htinguished and outstanding service
to Antigua and Barbuda, the Caricom region or to
the international community."

(b) in paragraph 3, by the repeal of subparagraph (1)
and the substitution of the following -

"(1) The Most Illustrious Order of Merit may
be awarded to any citizen of Antigua and Barbuda
or to a citizen of any other country who has ren-
dered meritorious service to Antigua and Barbuda,
the Caricom region or to the international commu-
nity."

(c) in paragraph 4, by the repeal of subparagraph (1) and
the substitution of the following -

"(1) The Most Precious Order of Princely
Heritage may be awarded to any citizen of
Antigua and Barbuda or to a citizen of any other
country who has rendered invaluable service to
Antigua and Barbuda, the Caricom region or the
international community in any field of heritage
and other cultural endeavours.
