THE MARRIAGE O F BRITISH SUBJECTS
(FACILITIES) ACT

1. This Act may be cited as the Marriage of British Short title.
Subjects (Facilities) Act.

2. (1) Where a marriage is intended to be solemnized Facilities for

resident in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland, a cer-
tificate of notice of marriage may be issued in Antigua and
Barbuda by a person thereunto authorized by the law of
Antigua and Barbuda, in the like manner as if the marriage
were to be solemnized or contracted under circumstances
requiring the issue of such certificates and as if both such
British subjects were resident in Antigua and Barbuda.

(3) For the purposes of subsection (1) the expression
"certificate for marriage lawfully issued" means:

(a) in the case of England, a certificate for mar-
riage issued by a superintendent registrar;

( 6 ) in the case of Scotland, a certificate for mar-
riage issued by a registrar or a certificate of proclama-
tion of banns;

(c) in the case of Northern Ireland, a certificate
for marriage issued by a registrar.
