1. This Act may be cited as the Cotton Export Act. Short title.

2. In this Act- Interpretation.

"the Association" means the Antigua and Barbuda
Cotton Growers Association incorporated under the
Cotton Growers Association Act; Cap. 109.

"clean lint cotton" means unstained cotton from which
the seeds have been extracted by ginning.

3. (1) It shall not be lawful for any person to export cotton not to be
exported without clean lint cotton for sale from Antigua and Barbuda without ,he con,ent of

first obtaining the consent of the Minister as provided in Minister-
subsection (2).

(2) The consent of the Minister shall be conveyed by
means of a licence in the Form in the Schedule issued by
an officer appointed for this purpose by the Public Service
Commission.

4. Before a licence is issued for the export of clean
lint cotton from Antigua and Barbuda, the Minister shall
in consultation with the Association certify his approval of
the purchaser of the said cotton and the price at which it
is to be sold.

conviction to a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or
to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not
exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.
