Approval of direction mainly socio-economic development of the key economic region (KTTĐ) South to 2010 and vision 2020 for the 7 provinces and cities under central, including: Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, BA RIA-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc province , Long An, to promote the potential advantages of its geographical location, natural conditions, the system of infrastructure to build the southern KTTĐ region became one of the region's economic development, has high economic growth and sustainability, is actually the country's dynamic economic , hold the crucial role contributes to the overall economic growth of the country.
