The LAW on prevention of infectious diseases _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1992 was revised, some additional articles by resolution No. 51/2001/QH10;
Congress enacted the law on prevention of infectious diseases, chapter I GENERAL PROVISIONS article 1. Scope, application object 1. This law the provisions on prevention of infectious diseases; border health quarantine; epidemic; the conditions of guarantee for the prevention of infectious disease in humans.
The prevention of virus infection causing immunodeficiency syndrome made in people (HIV/AIDS) are not in the scope of this law.
2. This law applies to agencies, organizations, individuals in the country and abroad in Vietnam.
Article 2. Explanation of terms In this law, the terms below are interpreted as follows: 1. Infectious Diseases are diseases transmitted directly or indirectly from a person or from animal to person due to infectious pathogens.
2. infectious pathogens are viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi have the ability to cause infectious diseases.

Article 6. State Agency on prevention of infectious diseases 1. The unified Government to manage state on the prevention against infectious disease, within the country.

Article 7. The responsibility of agencies, organizations, individuals in the prevention of infectious disease 1. Article 8. The prohibited acts 1. Intentionally do spread of infectious pathogens.

Article 15. Hygiene in animal husbandry, transport, slaughter, destruction of livestock, poultry and other animals 1. Article 16. Food safety 1. Article 17. Hygiene in building 1. When the construction works must comply with the national technical regulation on hygiene in the construction according to the regulations of the Minister of health.

Article 21. Infectious disease monitoring contents 1. Article 22. Infectious disease surveillance report 1. Infectious disease surveillance reports must be submitted to the competent State agencies on health. Content of the infectious disease surveillance report including the information specified in article 21 of this law.

Article 30. The responsibilities in the organization using the vaccine, health products 1. The State has the responsibility to ensure funding for the use of vaccines, medical products provided for in paragraph 3 to article 28 and Article 29, paragraph 4 of this law.
2. The Minister of health is responsible for: a) issued the list of infectious diseases to use vaccines, compulsory health products specified in paragraph 1 to article 29 of this law;

Article 56. International cooperation in operations against 1. Chapter VI ENFORCEMENT of TERMS Article 63. Effect of this Law has effect from 1 July 2008.
