The Senate and the CA of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, meeting in General Assembly,

DECREE:

ArtAculo 1Aº.-Base the Inter-American Convention to Prevent, Punish and Eradicate Violence against Women, adopted on June 9, 1994, in Belém do Pará, Federal Republic of Brazil, in the Vigesimuarto Sessions of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States and signed by the Eastern Republic of Uruguay on June 30, 1994.

Chamber of Sessions of the CA of Representatives, in Montevideo, on December 13, 1995.
