On Diplomatic Ranks

This Act establishes diplomatic ranks for employees of the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan and defines the basic principles of appropriation, preservation and deprivation of diplomatic ranks.


Article 1
Diplomatic Rank - a special service rank assigned to the staff of the diplomatic service.
Article 2


The assignment of diplomatic ranks of the diplomatic service staff on consideration of the qualifications, experience and professional experience, tenure in the diplomatic rank of the results and performance.
Article 3


Employees of the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan for the post assigned to the following diplomatic ranks:

Article 4


The diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the President of Turkmenistan awarded.
Other diplomatic ranks are assigned to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the basis of the recommendation of the evaluation commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Article 5


For a diplomatic rank to the basic salary set supplement, the amount of which is determined by the President of Turkmenistan.
Article 6


The diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the assigned life.
Article 7



Withdrawal of diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the President of Turkmenistan made.
Deprivation other diplomatic ranks or lowering them is made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the proposal of the evaluation commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Deprivation of the employee of the diplomatic rank of the diplomatic service means depriving him of all previous diplomatic ranks.


Article 8
The procedure for giving, saving and deprivation of diplomatic ranks set Regulations on the assignment of diplomatic ranks, approved by the President of Turkmenistan on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.


Article 9
1. This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
2. The Law of Turkmenistan "On the diplomatic ranks", adopted on 24 November 1995 (Bulletin of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, 1995, № 3, p. 45).
