The GOVERNMENT of the REPUBLIC of TURKEY MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT and FORESTRY, the KOSOVO PROVISIONAL SELF-GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS (MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT and SPATIAL PLANNING), where HE WORKED on BEHALF of UNITED NATIONS COOPERATION in the ENVIRONMENT BETWEEN the KOSOVO TRANSITIONAL AUTHORITY MEMORANDUM of UNDERSTANDING This memorandum of understanding, the Government of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of environment and forest and the Kosovo Provisional institutions of Self-government (Ministry of environment and spatial planning) acting on behalf of the United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo (UNMIK) (hereinafter referred to as "parties").
UNMIK on 10 June 1999 and 1244 UN Security Council resolution provides a temporary administration in Kosovo with mandated;
The Government of the Republic of Turkey and the surrounding area one of the top priorities of UNMIK capacity by improving environmental conditions by creating and preserving a healthy environment from the environment was to provide additional distortions;
To develop cooperation between the parties in order to protect the environment and strengthen friendly relations by expressing their request in the path of natural resources and environmental protection of scientific, technical and technological aspects of keeping in mind the need for closer cooperation requires;
The following matters agreed upon: article l the reduction of environmental pollution and protection of the environment, the parties on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit, based on knowledge, experience, and special programs related to technology transfer and cooperation through projects.
Article 2 is the main environmental areas of cooperation will include the following:-management of protected areas, nature conservation, water resource management, spatial planning,-waste recycling and hazardous waste disposal, wastewater treatment,-Meteorological studies, air quality, environmental impact assessment, strategic environmental assessment, environmental legislation, the acquis of the European Union environmental authorities and management implemented in the lands under the parties on harmonization, as any of the other common interest-Party field.
Article 3 the parties hereby Covenant Zaptının 2. Article 7 representatives of the parties to This memorandum of understanding to be signed by the duly authorized, and to complete the process of the Republic of Turkey will enter into force following the internal approval and will be valid for a five year period.
This memorandum of understanding, if either party to terminate the memorandum of understanding of its intention six months in advance to report in writing will end with diplomatic ways.
