Based on the Constitution
As approved by the People's Assembly at its meeting held on the date of 9-8-1433 A.H., 28-6-2012, my birth.
The following are issued:
Article 1
The text of article 556 of the Penal Code, promulgated in Legislative Decree No. 148 of 1949 and amended by Legislative Decree No. 1 of 2011, is amended to read as follows:
1. The criminal shall be sentenced to temporary hard labour:
a. If the deprivation of liberty exceeds the month of deprivation of liberty.
b. If the person deprived of his liberty is deprived of physical or moral torture.
c. If the offence is committed against a staff member while he or she is doing his or her job, or at the time of the offence.
2. A penalty of ten to twenty years and a fine double the amount of the amount of kidnapping by violence or deception is punishable by a person with the intent to seek ransom and to be sentenced to a maximum penalty if the act of an 18-year event, as well as a fine, is signed.

This law is published in the Official Journal.
