Act No. 20

President of the Republic

On the basis of the provisions of the Constitution

At its 1-7-1438th meeting, the People ' s Assembly adopted resolution 29.3-2017.

Issue:

Article 1

The courts of first instance and appellate to hear maritime cases fill their functions with the numerical staffing of each governorate and are distributed according to the following table:

Prefecture, area of appeal, beginning

Latakia Governorate of Latakia 1 2

Tartus 1 2

Article 2

The modern maritime courts are competent to hear maritime transport cases, whatever the amount claimed.

Article 3

Existing cases of maritime transport in their current situation are referred to the corresponding competent court under this Act.

Article 4

The decisions of the Maritime Transport Appeals Tribunal shall be appealed to the Chamber of Commerce of the Court of Cassation.

Article 5

Each text shall be repealed.

Article 6

This law is published in the Official Gazette.
