This order governs the combination of colour photographs or other illustrations with additional warnings in accordance with s. 12, para. 5, OTab, on any packaging unit for tobacco products and products containing tobacco substitutes intended for smoking.
1 A combined warning consists of:
2 Only the combined warnings referred to in Schedule 1 may be used.
1 The illustration must correspond to about 50 % of the combined warning surface.
2 The additional warning must correspond to about 38 % of the combined warning surface.
3 Where the illustration is in the form of a text, it must correspond, with the additional warning, to approximately 88 % of the combined warning surface.
4 The "stop-tobacco" warning must correspond to about 12 % of the combined warning surface, the broken cigarette filter that exceeds the frame that should not be taken into account.
5 The complementary cautionary note and the colour photograph are connected graphically by a gradient area from black to transparent. This field must be approximately 10 % of the combined warning surface area.

1 The combined warnings are published according to the three publication series listed in Appendix 1. The three publication series are published in order of rotation (series 1, series 2, series 3, then series 1, etc.).
2 Series change occurs once every two years, at 1 Er January. The packaging units presenting the new series can be handed over to consumers in advance, between 1 Er October and December 31 prior to the change of series.
3 The packaging units already produced, presenting the combined warnings of the previous series, may be handed over to consumers until stocks are exhausted, but not beyond 31 December following the change of series.
1 The illustrations and warning "stop-tobacco" referred to in Schedule 1 are reserved for the realization of the combined warnings.
2 Federal authorities may, with the agreement of the FOPH, use the illustrations for other purposes.
1 The packaging units for products covered by this order may be issued to consumers under the old provisions until 31 December 2009.
2 The series of releases begin with the combined warnings of series 1 to 1 Er January 2010 for all tobacco products.
This order shall enter into force on 1 Er January 2008.

Annex 2(art. 4, para. 1)
1.1 The combined warnings are reproduced without modification of the proportions or colours.
1.2 They are designed as images to be taken as a whole and cannot be modified.
1.3 They are printed at least in quadrichromy (CMYK), line 133 per inch.
If the size of the conditioning unit so requires, the combined warnings may be modified according to the following rules.
2.1 For additional warnings, it is possible to change the font size and line breaks to ensure readability.
2.2 For illustrations in white text, it is possible to change the font size and line breaks to ensure good readability. The area between the illustration in the form of blank text and the supplementary warning must be respected.
2.3 For photographs or other colour illustrations, the graphic edition shall be carried out as follows:
2.4 For the "stop-tobacco" warning, it is possible to change the font size and line breaks (1, 2, or 4 lines) to ensure readability. The graphic edition of broken cigarette can be achieved by a change of scale.
