Having regard to art. 7 and 38, para. 1, of the Federal Act of 18 December 1970 1 On the fight against transmissible diseases of man (Epidemic Act),
Stops:
1 The Federal Department of the Interior directs the general measures to be taken in the long term to prevent the entry of human communicable diseases from abroad.
2 The Federal Office of Public Health is competent to order emergency measures.

In order to combat emerging infectious diseases (Emerging Infectious Diseases) upon arrival at the airport, the Federal Department of the Interior may order that:

1 The measures ordered are carried out by the Federal Office of Public Health, in particular by its Border Health Service, with the support of federal and cantonal border control bodies, food control and Transportation companies.
2 The Federal Office of Public Health may appoint a canton or other appropriate bodies to carry out certain measures.
3 In order to combat new emerging infectious diseases, the Federal Office of Public Health may delegate to airport operators the following tasks:

1 The Federal Office of Public Health may process the personal data necessary for the performance of its legal tasks.
2 The data collected is used to trace the chain of contacts with people if they:

The Federal Office of Public Health or the competent cantonal authorities for the airport shall transmit to the cantons concerned the data necessary to trace the persons referred to in Art. 3, para. 2, or to order the measures provided for in the Act of 18 December 1970 on epidemics.

1 Together with the Federal Office for Construction and Logistics 1 And the relevant military and cantonal authorities, the Federal Office of Public Health develops the necessary facilities for the reception, examination, cleaning, disinfection and disinfestation and is ready to meet the needs of the facilities Isolation.
2 The Federal Office of Public Health may contract the operation and maintenance of the stations mentioned in para. 1 to a cantonal authority or an army service. It may also, with the consent of the cantonal and local authority, enter into arrangements with a hospital establishment.

1 In the event of exceptional circumstances, the Federal Office of Public Health is authorized to serve the auxiliary staff and to arrange the emergency stations for which it is immediately required. The necessary appropriations must be required at the next request for additional appropriations.
2 Where circumstances so require, the Federal Department of the Interior may request the Federal Department of Defence, Population and Sports Protection 1 To make available military assets. In this case, the Federal Office of Public Health remains responsible for the Border Service.

1 In a general mobilization of war or partial mobilization, the organization and activity of the Border Health Service remain within the purview of the Federal Office of Public Health.
2 If necessary, the Federal Department of the Interior may ask the Military Command for military assistance for overloaded border health units.
