741.211.5 order of the DETEC on standards for signalling of roads, paths for pedestrians and the pedestrian footpaths of June 12, 2007 (status on August 1, 2007) the federal Department of the environment, transport, energy and communication, view of art. 115, al. 1, of the order of 5 September 1979 on road signs, view of art. 4, al. 2, of the Ordinance of 26 November 1986 the pedestrian paths and hiking paths, stop: art. 1 purpose this order lists the standards of the Swiss Professional Association of road and transport (VSS) applicable in the field of performance, presentation and setting in place signals, brands and devices of markup on the roads, paths for pedestrians and hiking paths.

Art. 2 signals the following standards are applicable to signals: a. indicator "Provision of the traffic lanes": standard Switzerland (SN) 640 814 b (edition of May 1998); b. road signs: SN 640 815e (edition of May 2003); c. road signs: signs of the main and secondary roads direction indicators, presentation: SN 640 (November 2005 edition) 817d; d. signalling of the motorways and semi-motorways Indicators of direction, presentation: SN 640 820 a. (June 2004 edition); e plates numbered for European roads as well as motorways and semi-motorways: SN 640 821 a (edition of March 2003); f. signs of distances in kilometers: SN 640 823 (edition of August 1999); g. the junctions and the ramifications of motorways and semi-motorways numbering: SN 640 824 a (December 2002 version); h. tourist signs on the main and secondary roads : SN 640 827c (edition of June 1995); i. indicators of direction for hotels: SN 640 828 (November 1979 edition); j. signs of slow traffic: SN 640 829 has (December 2005 edition); excluding the c. 10; k. writing: SN 640 830c (edition of May 2002); l. available on the main and secondary roads: SN 640 846 (October 1994 edition); Mr. available at roundabouts: SN 640 847 (edition of May 1999); n. Application of retroreflective materials and lighting: SN 640 871 (May 2005 edition); o. Signs of the roadworks on motorways and semi-motorways: SN 640 885c (October 1999 edition); p. temporary signage on main and secondary roads: SN 640 886 (edition of October 2001).

Art. 3 traffic lights installations the following standards are applicable to facilities of traffic lights: a. the transport management; temporary closure of channels (FTV) light system: SN 640 802 (edition of November 1999); b. Configuration of mailboxes at traffic lights: SN 640 836 (March 1994 edition); c. transitional time and minimum time: SN 640 837 (May 1992 edition); d. interverts time: SN 640 838 (May 1992 edition); e. Reception, operation, maintenance: SN 640 842 (edition of September 1998); only chapter 11 "change of operating modes.

Art. 4 road markings the following standards are applicable to road markings: a. pedestrian traffic; crosswalks: SN 640 241 (edition of September 2000); excluding the chapter C "Equipment"; b. Aspect and areas of application: SN 640 850 a (November 2004 edition); c. specific brands; Areas of application, forms and dimensions: SN 640 851 (June 2002 edition); d. tactile-Visual markings for blind and visually impaired pedestrians: SN 840 852 (May 2005 edition); e. recessed lights: SN 640 853 (December 2006 issue); excluding Chapter D "Maintenance and operation"; f. application examples for motorways and semi-motorways: SN 640 854 (edition of May 1993); g. application examples for main and secondary roads: SN 640 862 (edition of May 1993).

Art. 5 features of markup standard SN 640 822 ("Markup devices", edition of June 1997) is applicable to markup devices.

Art. 6 transition periods stated in the standards listed below transition periods expire as follows: a. SN 640 802 traffic management; light system temporary closure of channels (FTV) 28 February 2010 b.

SN 640 814 b indicator "Provision of taxiways" c 28 February 2010.

SN 640 817d road signs: signs of the main roads and secondary, direction indicators, presenting 15 years after establishment of the direction signs d.

SN 640 822 markup features 28 February 2010 e.

SN 640 829 a slow traffic 2012 signals: signals - indicators of circuits (4.50.2) - signs of confirmation (4.51) 2026: the other f.

SN 640 850 has markings: aspect and areas of application 1 August 2016 g.

SN 640 852 tactile-Visual markings for visually impaired and blind pedestrians 1 January 2024 h.

SN 640 853 markings: lights recessed end 2015 i.

SN 640 871 signals: application of retroreflective materials and lighting end of 2020: roads high flow (RGD) end 2012: for other roads article 7 repeal of the law in the order of 4 August 2003 on standards applicable to road signs and road claims in the vicinity of petrol stations is repealed.
