832.311.18 federal law concerning the indication of the weight on the big packages to be transported by ship on 28 March 1934 (State July 13, 2001) the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation, view of art. 34 of the federal constitution; considering the message of the federal Council of November 24, 1933, stop: art. 1 packages or other objects weighing 1000 kg or more of gross weight, recorded within the territory of the Swiss Confederation and intended to be transported by sea or inland waterway, should carry their weight in kilograms, marked indication outside the clear and sustainable way.
Exceptionally, when, for special reasons, it is impossible to determine the exact weight, the parcel must bear an indication of the approximate weight with a mention clearly showing that it is only an approximation.
Art. 2. the weight must be marked before boarding and the package has left the territory of the Swiss Confederation.
An obligation to mark the weight to the sender and its representatives.
Art. 3 this Act does not apply to the materials transported in bulk.
Are also excluding the goods in transit, unless they are shipped back to Switzerland with new titles of transport.
Art. 4. the cantons are responsible for ensuring enforcement of this Act; they designate the delivery agencies.
The federal Council exercises supervision. He may apply to the cantons of the performance reports.
Art. 5. one who intentionally or by negligence, does not indicate the weight in accordance with the prescriptions of art. 1 and 2 will be punished with a fine of 500 francs at most.
Apply the General provisions of the federal penal code of February 4, 1853.
The pursuit and trial of offences are the responsibility of the cantons.

Art. 6. the federal Council shall set the date of the entry into force of this Act.
