0.132.349.18 original text Convention between the Swiss Confederation and the French Republic on rectification of the French-Swiss border as a result of the connection of the highways between Bardonnex (Geneva) and Miami (Department of Haute-Savoie) concluded on 18 September 1996 approved by the Federal Assembly on 19 December 1997, Instruments of ratification exchanged on 31 January 2000 entry into force on 1 March 2000 (State October 3, 2000) the Swiss federal Council and the President of the Republic French eager to give full effect to the provisions of the agreement of 27 September 1984 relating to the connection of the highways between Bardonnex (Geneva) and Miami (Haute-Savoie), including his art. 1, by. 5 and 4, by. 1, have agreed to the following: art. 1-1. The path of the French-Swiss border between the canton of Geneva and the Department of Haute-Savoie, in sectors including, on the one hand, between stations No. 34 and no. 47 as well as between the terminals No. 48 and no. 50 and, on the other hand, between terminals n 64 and 70 n, is rectified after Exchange of plots of equal areas, in accordance with the plan to the 1: 5000, attached to this agreement (annex No.1) and which in fact an integral part.
2 are reserved of little importance changes that may result from the demarcation of the border rectified.

Art. 2-1. Upon entry into force of this Convention, the permanent delegates to the demarcation of the French-Swiss border are responsible to proceed, in the areas defined in art. 1, to: a. the demarcation and the surveying of the border, (b) the establishment of the charts, plans and description of the border.

2. after completion of the said work, a report will be prepared jointly with charts, maps and description of the new route. After approval of the two Governments through an exchange of notes, the minutes will be same strength as this agreement.
3. costs of changing the demarcation made necessary by this Convention will be supported by half, by each of the two Contracting States.

Art. 3-1. The plate of the book, extended on both longitudinal sides by a strip of land about six metres wide, with an area of 11 641 m such as defined in the plan attached (annex No. 2), is sold for free in freehold, free of charge and servitude, to the French side, from the date of the entry into force of this Convention.
2. partial backfilling, total or compensatory to the site of the main work, for the benefit of the Swiss part, is regulated by a separate agreement.

Art. 4. the present Convention will enter into force the first day of the second month following the date of receipt of the last instrument of ratification.
