172.041.15 order of the DFI on fees by the Federal Archives (Ordinance on fees ArchF) of December 1, 1999 (Status January 1, 2008) the federal Department of the Interior, view of art. 11, al. 3, of the order of 8 September 1999 on archiving, stop: art. 1 purpose this order regulates the fees by the Swiss Federal Archives (Archives) for the services they provide.
Art. 2 principles the basic benefits of the Federal Archives in the sense of art. 11, al. 1, of the order of 8 September 1999 on the archive are free as long as they are necessary for proper use of the archives.
Additional benefits are subject to the regime of fees. These are calculated according to the principle of cost coverage and that of equivalence, based on material costs, direct costs of personnel and other expenses.
The Federal Archives provide other benefits insofar as this is compatible with their possibilities of the moment and as long as this does not interfere with the essential tasks which they are responsible.
Art. 3 reduction or discount fees the Federal Archives may grant a reduction or remission of fees: a. If the perception of these emoluments costs for an amount greater than the benefits; (b) if the subject has low means; c. If delivery or professional usage are in the public interest, for example for training.
Art. 4 fee supplements a supplement ranging up to 50% may be requested if the service is provided following a request in emergency or outside normal working hours.
Administrative surcharge up to 20% may be asked if the Federal Archives charge third parties to provide the service.
Art. 5 quote in the case of services for which fees will exceed likely 200 francs, the Federal Archives inform beforehand the taxable person of the expected amount.
Art. 6 decision to charge the Federal Archives charge fees once the delivery run.
The taxable person may apply to the Federal Archives a fee decision within 30 days of the billing date.

Art. 7 tariff of fees the tariff of fees is fixed in the annex.
Arrangements and special rates can be applied to private archives, in accordance with the agreements concluded with the custodian.
Art. 8 entry into force this order comes into force on January 1, 2000.
