The objective of training referred to in s. 177, para. 2, OPAn is that slaughterhouse staff treat animals with minnows and displace them and shrew them in the rules of art.
1 The training includes a theoretical part and a practical part. The latter is followed up in employment and conducted in one or more slaughterhouses. It shall be given in accordance with the tasks of the staff and shall bear at least a group of animals referred to in Art. 9, para. 1. Persons engaged in an activity involving more than one group of animals shall be trained in two groups of animals within the meaning of s. 9, para. 1, at least.

Ongoing training is designed to update technical knowledge and practical skills to reflect the latest state of knowledge.

Anyone who provides basic training or qualifying training must provide participants with material on the course content.
At the end of each theoretical part of the training, a knowledge check is carried out, the result of which must be evaluated and documented.
Practical exercises in training are carried out under supervision and according to the daily work volume of the institution. No animal intervention may be conducted solely on an exercise basis, unless the intervention has been authorized as an animal experiment in accordance with s. 141 OPAn.
