RS RS RS 413.14 s. 413.12 413.11 2Certificat of end of studies issued by a foreign upper secondary school are admitted without examination in the first half in a section of the EPFL holders of a graduation certificate from a foreign upper secondary school, when the following conditions are met: a. the certificate must: 1. be issued by a country in the European region had ratified the Convention of 11 April 1997 on the recognition of higher education qualifications in the European region 2. constitute the highest certificate of upper secondary school in the country in question, 3. punishing training of general character corresponding to a maturity that is recognized by the Federal Government according to the order of 15 February 1995 on the recognition of certificates of baccalaureate, including concerns the objectives, duration and the disciplines of education, 4. be scientific nature, and 5. give to the country that issued it, general access to universities (official certificate required);

b. the licensee must: 1. have an average general greater or equal to 80% of the maximum score to examinations for the certificate or, if he got an average General of 70% at least, be able to certify by skills out of the ordinary file in a parallel activity to studying, 2 prove that he got, as appropriate, a place, in the country which issued the certificate for the field of study covered, et3. prove that he has, where appropriate, sufficient knowledge of the french and English.

Section 3 Admission after comprehensive review art. 7Principe anyone who does not meet the requirements of art. 1 to 5 can be admitted in the first half of the EPFL only after successfully completing a comprehensive entrance exam. The comprehensive entrance examination takes place in french.

Section 4 Admission to the training leading to the Bachelor's degree after the semesters in a high schooland admission to the training leading to the master


Art. 9Changement within the ETH people who qualify to move to a higher ETH semester can spend in the upper half of corresponding to the EPFL. The latter may require that they acquire missing materials.
The final failure in an EPF people can no longer be admitted to EPFL.
A candidate cannot be admitted in a new field of study that if, in the past, it has been registered to a single field of academic study. The fields of study left directly after a successful stage are not taken into account.

Art. 10Admission of students from other high schools students from another high school who wish to start studies or continue their studies at the EPFL must provide proof: a. they have linguistic knowledge sufficient; b. they possess the required knowledge according to the plan of studies and examinations of the section which interests them, for the semester in which they wish to be admitted; c. they have experienced in the past nor final failure , double failure or lack of success over two years in a field of study similar to those taught at the EPFL, and what they are allowed to continue their studies in the school which they come; d. they have not been registered in the past to more than one area of University study; the fields of study successfully completed are not taken into account.

The school may require that students pass an equivalency exam or that they acquire additional funds within the time limit.

Art. 11Admission in the training leading to the master's degree holder of a Bachelor degree issued by an EPF is allowed in the training leading to the master of the EPFL.
It can be admitted in the training leading to a different master, on the decision of the Vice President for academic affairs.
Holder of a bachelor of 180 credits ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) or any person establishing an equivalent educational level acquired in another Swiss University or foreign can be admitted in the training leading to the master, on the decision of the school.
The school may require candidates from another high school that they pass an equivalency test or acquire additional before or, at the latest, credits at the end of the first year of the training leading to the master. It may also require, if any, realize a training course in accordance with the regulations in the same timeframe.
The admission of holders of a Bachelor degree issued by a University with which the EPFL concluded an agreement is governed by this agreement.

Section 5 Admission of listeners, admissions to training continues, in-depth training and doctoral art. 13 admission of Auditors training officer can admit as observers of those who wish to take lessons without aim at obtaining an academic title.
The training officer may exclude auditors from some teachings or don't admit them insofar as they prove that they have sufficient knowledge and where the premises and equipment as well as the conditions of supervision available permit. It must indicate the limitations of admission in official publications.
If there is no limitation of admission, listeners are considered to be admitted when they paid the tax auditor.

The vice-president for Academic Affairs decisions under art. 1 to 13 on the basis of the documents submitted, in particular regarding: a. the admission of students in higher semesters, including the obligation to pass exams for admission and the determination of the review branches; b. the passage from one section to another, including the taking into account of the studies and previous reviews.

Regarding the admission of foreign applicants-residents, holders of a foreign maturity certificate, training officer shall also take decisions according to the capacity, determined by the teaching staff and the study places available.

Section 2 provisions relating to Art. admission examinations 17 time of reduced entrance exam training officer may require that the candidate passed the admission examination reduced prior to the beginning of the studies, after following a preparatory course organized by EPFL, or at the latest at the end of the first year of studies.
Candidates who must take the exam during the first year of studies have, before this review, the same rights and obligations as students.

Art. Examinations 19modalites the vice-president for Academic Affairs fixed mode of interrogation (oral or written) to the smooth running of the entrance exam and taking into account the material to review. The decision is published appropriately on the website of the EPFL, six months before the exam at the latest.
Training officer designates the examiner and, for the oral examination, the observer.

Art. 21 absence, abandonment and interruption of the review in the absence or abandonment without reasonable excuse, the candidate is considered as having failed the test. Only the disease and compelling reasons are an excuse used to allow a possible interruption of the review.

Art. 22 successful completion of the examination, acquisition of some results in the event of repetition


The works are scored from 1 to 6, required average of 4. Only whole points and the half points are allowed. The zero is reserved for the cases where the student would attend, without good cause the test to which it is registered, and in case he would run in the race, but would make white sheet.
Admissions test is successful when the notes of all of the branches listed in art. 8, al. 1, let. a and b, on one hand, and the notes of all the branches of the Group 1 listed in art. 8, al. 1, let. a, on the other hand, reach a weighted average of 4.0.
The Group of industries 2 mentioned in art. 8, al. 1, can be presented only if all of the scores in the Group of branches 1 reaches the required average. The result is acquired during a retry.

Art. 23 repetition of the examination the candidate who failed twice to the entrance exam in an EPF has more the possibility to repeat.
Candidates who must pass an entrance exam for the first year of studies are admitted in the second year of studies when they have passed this exam.

Art. 24 decision on the outcome of the review, the outcome of the review of each candidate's admission notification is determined by the commission for admission in accordance with experts.
On the basis of the report of the Admissions Committee, the training officer communicates by decision to candidates whether or not they were successful.

Art. 25 relationship between the course of special Mathematics (CMS) and the admission examinations candidates required to an entrance exam in the first half of the training leading to the Bachelor's degree may be admitted to the CMS. Training officer reserves the right to make a selection based on the number of places available, on the basis of these securities or preliminary tests at the entrance to the CMS.
Candidates who have passed the annual examination of the CMS are exempted from the entrance exam in the natural branches of math-science type.
Abandonment or failure to the CMS is equivalent to a failure in the exam.

Art. 26Commission for admission the vice-president for Academic Affairs determines the composition and tasks of the Committee responsible for admission in courses leading to the bachelor and master.
He may delegate the competence to make decisions under this order.

Chapter 3 provisions final art. 27 examination fee any person who registers to an entrance exam must pay an examination fee in accordance with the order of May 31, 1995 on taxes of the ETH domain.
The fees for admission to a higher semester examinations are laid down in application of art. 2, al. 1, let c of the Ordinance on the fees of the ETH domain.
The candidate representing a review again pays the corresponding fee.
The training officer may, on reasoned request, provide needy applicants and scholarship candidates of this tax.

Art. 28 fee for admission a person admitted as a student at EPFL is required to pay a fee for admission in accordance with the order of May 31, 1995 on taxes of the ETH domain. The passage of one EPF to another does not give rise to the payment of this fee.
No exemption from the payment of this fee is granted.

SR 414.131.7 art. Transitional 28aDispositions the student who has changed as the result of an abandonment or a first failure section before the entry into force of this amendment has the right to change section only once according to art. 9, al. 4. the provisions of section 4 apply by analogy to the admission in a higher semester of studies leading to the diploma of the EPFL.
For students of an EPF, the acquisition of 60 credits of 2 cycle during the third year of studies is considered to obtaining a Bachelor's degree.
