Federal Order concerning the accession of Switzerland to the general borrowing agreements of the International Monetary Fund

14 December 1983 (State on 14 December 1983)

The Swiss Federal Assembly,

Having regard to Article 8 of the Federal Constitution 1 ; given the message of the Federal Council of 29 June 1983 2 ,

Stops:

Art. 1

1 Switzerland's accession to the International Monetary Fund's general borrowing agreements 1 Is approved.

2 The Federal Council is authorised to accede to Switzerland's participation in the general loan agreements for their new five-year validity period.

3 The Swiss National Bank is a participating institution in the general loan agreements. It works with the Federal Council for the implementation of Swiss participation. The Federal Council shall determine the terms of application after agreement with the National Bank. The Federal Council informs the Chambers on Switzerland's participation in general borrowing agreements.

4 Appropriations provided by the National Bank under general loan agreements are not guaranteed by the Confederation.


Art. 2

In the declaration of accession to the general loan agreements 1 Address to the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Council will refer to the principles set out in the Federal Act of March 19, 1976 2 On international development cooperation and humanitarian aid, principles that must be observed in campaigns in favour of developing countries.


Art. 3

This Order is not subject to the international treaty referendum.
