0.946.298.181.1 original text exchange of notes between the Switzerland and Yugoslavia concerning the abolition of the regulated service payments between the two countries on December 16, 1968, the Embassy of Switzerland in Belgrade and the Yugoslav Ministry of Foreign Affairs conducted an exchange of notes concerning the abolition of the regulated service of payments between the Switzerland and Yugoslavia.
The Swiss note has the following content: the Embassy of Switzerland presents its compliments to the Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs and order of his Government for the honour to propose the following: 1. in order to refer to the wish expressed on many occasions by the Yugoslav authorities and to foster economic relations, the regulated system of payments in force between the two countries is supprime.2. Therefore, the agreement between the Swiss Confederation and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, concerning the exchange of goods and the settlement of payments, concluded at Berne, September 27, 1948, as well as protocols and exchanges of letters relating to it, shall be repealed with effect from 31 December 1968.3. The two Governments state that after the repeal contractual instruments referred to in Chapter 2 above, transfers, when that is their nature, are not subject to less favourable than existing at the time of the repeal such contractual instruments and that the same treatment as that reserved for countries with which the payments should be made in convertible currency will be applied in the future.4. It is understood that trade on 27 September 1948 Treaty remains in force and that in addition the provisions of the General Agreement on tariffs and trade (GATT) - which the Switzerland and Yugoslavia acceded, respectively according to protocols of April 1, 1966 and July 26, 1966 - apply to economic between the two country.5 relations. The Swiss compensation Office and the National Bank of Yugoslavia will proceed directly to the liquidation of the accounts provided for by the agreement referred to in Figure 2.
