FVO Ordinance on the import and placing on the market of cesium-contaminated foodstuffs following the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant

See art. 86, para. 2, of the order of 16 December 2016 on foodstuffs and common objects 1 , given art. 3, para. 2, of the order of 16 December 2016 on contaminants 2 ,

Stops:

Art. 1 Maximum cumulative values for cesium 134 and 137

The following maximum cumulative values apply to food contaminated with caesium 134 and 137 following the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant:

A.
370 Bq/kg for:
1.
Milk, including acidified, acidified or fermented milk,
2.
Cream, including acid, acidified or fermented cream,
3.
Buttermilk,
4
Yoghurt,
5.
The kephir,
6.
Whey;
B.
370 Bq/kg for foodstuffs intended for infants up to 6 months of age;
C.
600 Bq/kg for all other foodstuffs.
Art. 2 Importing fungi

1 Fungi from the following countries may be imported into Switzerland only if the lot is accompanied by the export certificate set out in Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1635/2006 1 :

A.
Albania;
B.
Macedonia;
C.
Belarus;
D.
Bosnia and Herzegovina;
E.
Moldova;
F.
Montenegro;
G.
Russia;
H.
Serbia;
I.
Turkey;
J.
Ukraine.

2 The export certificate must be in one of the official languages of the Confederation or in English.

3 L' al. 1 does not apply:

A.
Cultival fungi;
B.
Imports of lots of less than 10 kg of fresh produce or equivalent.

Art. 3 Document control and batch release

1 Documents accompanying the lots referred to in s. 2 are subject to systematic import control.

2 If the control shows that the caesium content is less than the maximum value set out in s. 1, let. C, the executing authority shall order release of the lot.

Art. 4 Entry into force

This order shall enter into force on 1 Er May 2017.
