Introductory provisions
paragraph 1 of this law provides for the obligation to

Documents to be provided
Writing referred to in Chapter 1. paragraph 5 of the freedom of the Press Act

The obligation to provide legal deposit under sections 5 and 6 do not include a radio show or a technical recording which according to Chapter 1. the second subparagraph of paragraph 7 freedom of the Press Act should be treated as an annex to a periodic publication. Law (2012:491).
§ 8 in the case of printed newspaper terms, instead of what follows
of the 5, 6 and 7 sections, as follows.

Other writing

Video and image storage
section 12 of the film that has been made available to the public here in
the country should a legal deposit is left.
Of videograms which has been made available to the public here in
country for at least five copies to a legal deposit is left.
The provisions of this section do not apply if the subject

Combined materials
16 § With combined material of course materials, which includes both

representation within the meaning of section 14 of the third paragraph. With writings and other
documents that may be included in combined materials "means only those
each has resulted or would result in an obligation to
provide copies.

Sound radio and television programmes
section 18 Of sound radio and television programmes, to be recorded
According to Chapter 5. section 3 of the Act (1991:1559) with instructions on
tryckfrihetsförordningens and freedom of Constitution

recording of the program under the provision.
Of sound radio and television programmes, as Swedish
broadcasters may transmit on the basis of a licence pursuant to Chapter 4.
section 3 and Chapter 11. section 1 of the Broadcasting Act (2010:696) or as
by satellite broadcast emanating from Sweden passed to
the public from Swedish software company, a

Of other sound radio and television programmes than referred to in
the second paragraph, a duty specimens left of each consignment
over a maximum of four weeks per calendar year.
The Government or the authority that the Government may
decide for the weeks that copies should be provided.

Who should provide copies
§ 19 Duty specimens of writing, as referred to in Chapter 1. paragraph 5 of the
freedom of the Press Act, shall be submitted
1. in the case of writing, which has been produced in this country, by
the petitioner,
2. for periodicals, which was made abroad, by the
the Publisher in this country,
3. in the case of other writing than periodicals, produced
abroad, by publishers in this country or, if such publishers
does not exist, of which have allowed to disclose the writing of spreading here in
the country.
section 20 of the legal deposit of films or documents for electronic
representation shall be provided by the commissioned films or
the documents available to the public in this country.

section 21 Duty specimens of writing in microform to be provided
1. If the script has been made here in the country, by the

Who copies must be submitted to
section 24 of the legal deposit of writing or combined materials shall be submitted in two or three copies to one or two copies shall be submitted to the Royal. the library and a copy provided to the Lund University Library.
Of copies of Scripture or combined materials to be provided in seven copies, one copy should be provided to each of the Royal. the library and the Stockholm, Uppsala, Linköping, Lund, Gothenburg and Umeå University Library.
Legal deposit referred to in section 7, first paragraph, section 11, first subparagraph, and paragraph 17 shall be submitted to the Lund University Library. Law (2012:491).

for the public in this country, and
3. writing in microform, video or other document for
electronic reproduction than videograms, within one month from the
date on which the document is first made available to the public

section 29 copies of the combined material has been made available
to the public in full working order shall be submitted within one month after
the end of the calendar quarter in which the material was
available.
Otherwise than as mentioned in the first paragraph, copies of
materials which form part of the combined material submitted in accordance
as provided in section 28 for each
document's team.
section 30 of the legal deposit of sound radio and television programmes shall
be provided within one month of the date on which the obligation to preserve
fixation according to Chapter 5. section 3 of the Act (1991:1559) with instructions
on the tryckfrihetsförordningens and Constitution of freedom
areas ended.
Special rules on videograms
31 § Kungl. the library, with the help of automatic
data processing keep a special register of legal deposit of
Videogram that has been submitted to the library. In the register to an

Common provisions
32 § copies to be provided in accordance with the provisions of this
the law shall also include
1. filmstrips, slides and similar materials forming accessories
to the documents of which copies shall be provided,
2. cover, cover, leaflet, brochure and similar smaller accessories
included with each copy when it is made available to
the public,
3. as regards the documents for electronic reproduction, computer software
in computer-readable form, or other such special instructions which may
required for the user to be able to assimilate the content of
the document.
Anyone who orders the production of a document, as petitioner
shall provide copies of according to section 19 of 1 and 21 § 1, shall
provide the petitioner such material as referred to in the first
subparagraph shall be provided with duty specimens.
Legal deposit and accessories must be in the same condition as the copy
intended to be made available to the public.

33 § each consignment with legal deposit shall be accompanied by a
list of the material included in the shipment.
The list shall be signed by the person who is required to
leave copies and submitted in two copies. One

been received.
Where a consignment comprises the combined material or such

section 34 The overriding obligation to submit copies
under this Act, by the authority the Government determines
under penalty imposed to fulfil their obligation.
35 § whoever fails to perform its obligation to conduct a
list referred to in the third subparagraph of section 31 or who fail to
provide material under paragraph 32 shall be sentenced to a
fines.
36 § Government or authority that the Government may
for certain cases, waive the obligation to provide
legal deposit under this Act.
37 section Decision as an authority other than the Government has announced
under this Act may be appealed to the administrative court.
Exemption decision under section 36, however, may not be appealed.

Transitional provisions
1993:1392
This law shall enter into force on 1 January 1994, when the Act (1978:487) if
copies of publications and audiovisual recordings shall
cease to apply.
When all the circumstances under the new law would
establish the obligation to provide copies of a document has
occurred prior to the entry into force is applied, however, the repealed the law on
the document.

1. this law shall enter into force on 1 January 1996.
2. When all the circumstances based obligation to provide
copies of a document has occurred prior to the entry into force
apply the older provisions of that document.
