The Government establishes the first paragraph under section 2 of the Act (1994:1563) of tobacco tax on cigarettes of the price category most in demand to 49 kronor per pack of 20 cigarettes.

Minimum excise on cigarettes, according to the same provision lays down to 1 and 27 cents per cigarette for the year 2009.
