Regulation (2009:251) If Processing Facilities For Aquaculture Animals

paragraph 1 of this regulation means



aquaculture animals: all aquatic animals in all life stages, including eggs and sperm, or gametes, reared on a farm or in a mollusc farming area, including such aquaculture animals brought onto the farm or mollusc farming after living in the wild,



authorised processing establishment "means a food business that is approved in accordance with article 4 of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of 29 april 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin and according to section 2.



section 2 of the Swedish Board of agriculture is responsible for examining and approving the processing plants. The Agriculture Department will assign each approved processing establishment a unique approval number.



The Agriculture Department should obtain the information from the municipalities that are required for examination pursuant to the first subparagraph.



The Agriculture Department should inform the NFA for approval and provide the NFA with information needed for registration under section 3.



section 3 of the Food Administration should record the following information on the authorised processing establishments:



1. processing facility's name, address, and other contact information (telephone number, fax number and e-mail address),



2. registration number and date of approval, identification codes or identifying number and defined the conditions of production and other data that had significance for authorisation or authorisations,



3. the processing plant's geographic location, if possible the specified by the GIS coordinates,



4. information about the processing plant's effluent treatment system, and



5. the species of aquaculture animals handled in the processing plant.



section 4 Agriculture Department may provide for recording of movements of aquaculture animals and products into and out of processing plants.



paragraph 5 of the Agriculture Department may provide for exemptions from the application of the requirements of article 18 of Council Directive 2006/88/EC of 24 October 2006 on animal health requirements for aquaculture animals and products thereof, and on the prevention and control of certain diseases in aquatic animals, as amended by Commission Directive 2008/53/EC, on aquaculture animals of species susceptible to one or more of the diseases listed in annex IV , part II, to the directive or products of such animals placed on the market without further processing for human consumption, which are packaged for retail sale under packaging and labelling rules laid down in European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No 853/2004.



The Agriculture Department may provide that the requirements of article 18 (2) of Council Directive 2006/88/EC should apply also to the live molluscs and crayfish of the species susceptible to one or more of the diseases listed in annex IV, part II, to the directive, and which are placed temporarily in Community waters, or introduced into the dispatch centres, purification centres or similar businesses.
