Introductory provisions



paragraph 1 of this law provides for the obligation for

regions that, in addition to what follows in the field of health

Medical Services Act (1982:763) and dental Act (1985:125),

offer health and dental care to some

foreigners residing in a County without being

residents there.



section 2 of the Act (2008:344) on health care for asylum seekers

and others, provides for the obligation of Governments to

offer health and dental services for, among other things.

asylum seekers, persons granted residence permit

temporary protection and persons held in custody.



section 3 of The regulations applicable to such care given with

support for health and medical services Act (1982:763) and

Dental Act (1985:125) shall apply also to the care given

under this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.



Personae



paragraph 4 of The Council's obligations under this Act applies

only to foreigners residing in the County.



With county councils under this law even a municipality that is not part

in a County.



section 5 of this Act extends to aliens residing in Sweden without

support of public authority or Constitution.



The law does not foreigners whose stay in Sweden

is intended to be temporary.



Scope of care



section 6, A County Council shall offer such foreigners referred to in

5 and who have not turned 18 care to the same extent as

offered to those who reside in the County.

1. health care that cannot be postponed,



2. reproductive health,



3. care for abortion, and



4. contraceptive advice.



section 8 A Council may offer foreigners who have reached the age of 18 years

covered by this law care beyond what follows from

7 §.



Drugs



9 § A county councils to offer foreigners covered by

This law the remedies provided for in the context of health care

is provided with the support of the law. It is, however, only medicines

subject to the law (2002:160) on drug benefits, etc.



Health assessment
