§ 1

GENERAL PROVISIONS

EXPLANATION OF EXPRESSIONS

Article 1-2

1. In this decision, the following definitions shall apply: a. State Minister: the Minister of Justice and police. b. s. Fast traffic: drivers of motor vehicles except mopeds and motorized hand carts.

t. Built-up bowls: Built-up areas whose boundaries are designated by the Minister and on the roads are indicated by signs referred to in article 4, sub r.

you. Buses:

1. ORDERS AND INSTRUCTIONS OF THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY

Article 3

Is when giving directions and commands through the officials or police officers made use of characters, the following characters are used: a. stop signs (annexes models 1, 2 and 9); b. continue marks (annex 3, 4 and 10); c. characters go faster (annex models 5 and 6) go slower;d chars (annex models 7 and 8).

Article 4-3


1. In the interest of the freedom of traffic or safety on the roads can be given the following instructions: a. stop stripes and pedestrian crossings; b. classes or arrows on the road to regulate traffic at or near intersections, or boxes for demarcating a designated bus stop; c. light signals; d. designation as priority crossing or junction (annex 11 models , 12 and 12a); e. closed statement in one or both directions or for certain motor vehicle (annex warehouse 13, 14, 14a and 15 to 24); f. ban left or turn right (annex models 25 and 26); g. Prohibition of waiting (Annex 33 to 35 models); k. designation as cycle track (annex model 42); l. referral to parking ( Annex model 43); m. indication direction (annex model 44); n. designation as follow (annex models 45 and 46); o. indication maximum speed (Annex 47, 48 and 48a models) model;p. designation as pedestrian path (Annex 49; q. danger marks (annex models 50 to 57); r. referral to built-up areas (annex models 58 and 59); s. referral to bus stop (model 57a); t. designation as motorway (Annex 61 and 62 models); you. characters that contain another name. 2. Article 5-4

Article 6-5

CYCLE AND FOOTPATHS

Article 15a-15

1. Article 17

Article 31-35

Article 31b-36

SOUND AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS

Article 31 c-37

Article 31d-38

Article 32-39

1. driving licences as referred to in article 9, paragraph 1, of the 1971 Rijwet be issued for driving motor vehicles of the following categories: a. two-wheel motor vehicles with or without side-car, two-wheel motor vehicles with or without trailer, and other three-wheeled motor vehicle, of which the unladen weight does not exceed 400 kg (driver's license A); b. motor vehicles on three or four wheels other than motor vehicles on two wheels with side-car, equipped for the transport of not more than eight persons, including the driver not included and other motor vehicles, not equipped for the transport of persons, of which the unladen weight plus the payload does not exceed 3500 kg (driving licence B-E); c. motor vehicles, not equipped for transport of persons, of which the unladen weight, plus the load capacity , more than 3500 kg (driver's license C-E);d. motor vehicles equipped to carry more than eight persons, including the driver not included (driver's license D-E). 2. 3. Article 37f-55

TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS

Article 53


1. FINAL PROVISIONS

Article 54-71

1. This State shall take effect with the exception of articles 28, 29, 30, 31, 46 and 47 paragraph 2, on the eleventh day after the issuance of the Government journal in which it is placed. 2. Articles 28, 29, 30, 31, 46 and 47 paragraph 2 shall enter into force at a time determined by the President. 3. The Rijbesluit 1949 expires on the date referred to in paragraph 1 with the exception of articles 14, 16, 17, 18 and 20, which expire on the date determined under paragraph 2.4. This State decision can be cited as "Rijbesluit 1957".
