As of September 19, 2014, the Presidency of the Superior Council of Sports regulated, by Resolution, the Sports Continuing Training Program (FOCO) of the Superior Council of Sports for the period 2015-2017, whose The aim is to stimulate and organise the continuing training of technicians linked to the sports system. To this end, the aforementioned Resolution provided for the minimum requirements, the conditions of implementation and the procedures for incorporation into the Program of the continuing training activities organized by the Spanish Sports Federations and the Top Sports Council. The Resolution also determined the procedures for accreditation and registration of the continuing training activities of sports technicians.

According to that Resolution, the 2015-2017 FOCO Program runs from October 1, 2014 to January 31, 2017. During this period, a total of 20 Spanish sports federations (hereinafter FFDDEE) have participated in the Programme, which have developed up to 126 types of continuing training activities (hereinafter referred to as AFC).

Given the objective results, which move the high interest in their development and participation, it seems appropriate to maintain the validity of this program that provides a determined support of the CSD to the FFDDEE, strengthens the formation of (a) technical assistance in matters of great relevance and interest and enables the FFDDEE to complete its initial training programmes for technicians, with programmes or activities for updating and continuing training. This promotes the transfer of the knowledge acquired in the high performance to the levels of sports training, as well as the updating of the methodological instruments of the trainers.

Given the proximity of the completion of the Programme, and taking into account the volume, complexity and variety of the activities carried out, the need to extend the duration of the current FOCO Programme to November 2017 is noted, in order to provide it with continuity until the approval of a new programming period. In addition, slight technical improvements have been made, allowing new organisations to organise training activities as well as potential recipients. This extended period will serve to address a thorough analysis of the results obtained, which can be contrasted with the participating FFDDEs, in order to raise the improvements that will be determined in the development of a new Program.

Therefore, by virtue of the powers conferred on the Presidency of the Superior Council of Sports in Article 5.2.d of Royal Decree 460/2015 of 5 June, by which it approves the Statute of the Superior Council of Sports, Available:
