The National Institute of the Performing Arts and Music has among its aims the promotion, protection and dissemination of the performing arts and music in any of its manifestations, including the implementation of promotion and dissemination actions, in particular through awards, grants and grants.

By virtue of the above, through the Order of the Ministry of Culture of July 1, 1994 was created and regulated, among others, the Award of Theatre for the Noveles "Calderón de la Barça", destined to distinguish the theatrical works of theme original of the new authors.

One. Article 1 is worded as follows:

" The purpose of this Order is to establish the regulatory basis for the award, under competitive competition, of the Theatre Award for Authors Noveles '' Calderón de la Barça '', which is designed to distinguish the work a novel, original theme, and whose duration is the normal of a complete dramatic show, not admitting short pieces of theatre. The Prize shall be convened on an annual basis. "

Two. Article 2 (1) is worded as follows:

" The authors of novels, Spaniards and nationals of other states of the European Union or the European Economic Area may participate in the call for the Prize. The theatrical works may be presented in any of the official languages of Spain.
