Key Benefits:
In accordance with the provisions of Order ARM/1744/2011 of 15 June, which regulates the marine reserve of Cabo de Gata-Níjar, and defines its delimitation and permitted uses, and in the use of the powers conferred by it Article 7 thereof, which empowers the General Secretariat of Fisheries to draw up the census of professional sea fishing vessels with the right to fish in the field of the marine reserve, this General Secretariat, having heard the sector concerned, and consulted the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, resolves:
1. Quota the census of vessels authorized to exercise professional sea fishing in the mode of minor arts in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Marine Reserve in a maximum of 34 vessels, whose maximum total joint power is 894 hp, the T.R.B. maximum maximum set is 95.50 TRB, and the maximum joint GTs are 77.71 GT.
2. To publish, as an annex to this Resolution, the updated census of active vessels authorised to fish until 31 December 2017 with minor gears in the waters of the marine reserve referred to in Order ARM/1744/2011, 15 of June, by which the Cabo de Gata-Níjar marine reserve is regulated, and its delimitation and permitted uses are defined.
3. That the vessels included in the censuses of the marine reserve previously published and which are not currently active in the Census of the Operational Fishing Fleet may be authorized to exercise the fishery in the field of the reservation, at the request of the shipowner, once they are reactivated.
4. Failure to exercise fishing activity in the field of the marine reserve for a period of one year without justified cause may result in the vessel being discharged from the census of the marine reserve, as provided for in Article 7.10 of that Regulation. Order ARM/1744/201.
5. That the non-contribution of information on fishing effort as set out in Article 4.2.a of that Order ARM/1744/2011 of 15 June may result in the exclusion of the census.
6. Under the provisions of the above two points, do not include in the census the vessels Merceditas, My Nietos, Nine Brothers, Antonita Aguado, Little Salome, and Simon of God, for not indicating the contribution of information of effort fishing and the exercise of the activity in the marine reserve during the year 2014.
