The Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, of the General Electoral Regime, states in its article 42.3 that the royal decree of call of local elections is issued on the fiftieth day before the fourth Sunday of May of the year corresponding to and published on the day following their issue in the "Official State Gazette", entering into force on the day of its publication.

In accordance with the above, this royal decree proceeds to the call for local elections, for its celebration on May 24, 2015.

Likewise, and in accordance with the provisions of the Statutes of Autonomy of Ceuta and Melilla, approved by Organic Laws 1/1995 and 2/1995, of March 13, the elections of the members of the Assemblies of Ceuta and Melilla shall be governed by the provisions of the state legislation governing the general election regime for the holding of local elections. Thus, the call for the election of members of the Assemblies of these Cities should be held on the same date indicated above.

Moreover, the aforementioned Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June, in its article 181.1, provides for the holding of partial local elections within six months in those constituencies where they have not been presented. Nominations in the last local elections. In addition, in Article 113.2.d), on contentious-electoral resources, it considers the possibility of a new call when the elections held in that or those tables that are affected by irregularities are declared null and void. invalidating, being able to limit such call to the act of the vote, in agreement, in any case, with the terms of the judgment or the corresponding annulatory agreement, and within three months from the sentence.

This is why it is imperative that the Electoral Boards of the Zone and the Courts and Courts provide timely, reliable and accurate information regarding the places where local elections are to be held. partial.

In its virtue, in accordance with the provisions of Article 185 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, in article 8.3 of the Organic Law 1/1995, of March 13, and in article 8.3 of the Organic Law 2/1995, of March 13, joint proposal by the Ministers of the Interior and Finance and Public Administrations and after deliberation by the Council of Ministers at its meeting on 27 March 2015,

DISPONGO:

Article 1. Call and date of the elections.

1. Local elections will be held on 24 May 2015.

2. The following charges will be chosen by voting:

a) Councilmembers of municipalities not subject to Open Council.

(b) Mayors of the municipalities which, by tradition or by virtue of regional regulations, have adopted the Open Council regime.

(c) Mayors or single-personnel bodies of the lower-than-municipal territorial entities where the application of Article 199.2 of the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June of the General Electoral Regime is applicable.

d) Counsellors of the Island Archipelago's Island Cabildos.

3. In accordance with Articles 7 and 8 of the Organic Laws 1/1995 and 2/1995, of 13 March, approving the Statutes of Autonomy of Ceuta and Melilla, elections are called to the Assemblies of Ceuta and Melilla, which is shall be held on the same date as referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article.

Article 2. Duration of the election campaign.

The election campaign will run for a fortnight, beginning at zero hours on Friday, May 8, 2015 and ending at twenty-four hours on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Article 3. Provincial Councils of common rules.

The deputies of the Provincial Diputations of the common regime shall be elected once the local elections have been held, in accordance with the procedure laid down in Articles 204 et seq. of the Organic Law 5/1985, 19 of June.

Article 4. Legal regime.

The elections called by this Royal Decree will be governed by the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June, and its implementing legislation, as well as by Articles 7 and 8 of the Organic Laws 1/1995 and 2/1995, of March 13, respectively.

Single additional disposition. Notification of places where partial local elections are to be held.

In accordance with the provisions of Articles 113.2 and 181.1 of the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June, both the Electoral Boards of the Area and the Courts and Courts concerned shall communicate to the Directorate-General for Political Affairs Within, as soon as this information is available, the places where the call for partial local elections is appropriate.

Single end disposition. Entry into force.

This royal decree will enter into force on the day of its publication in the "Official State Gazette".
