Under Order AAA/642/2013 of 18 April 2013 regulating the bluefin tuna fishery in the Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean, the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Fisheries, laying down the provisions of the The implementation of the Red Tuna Plan in the Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea, dated 9 March 2015, reserves a quota of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) for sport and recreational fishing for the 2015 season.
According to the data available to this General Secretariat for Fisheries, the quota allocated for the sport and recreational fishing of the lists 6. and 7. of the Register of Ships, is close to its authorized maximum, as appropriate carry out a technical control stop, until they know the actual situation of the catch data, in accordance with the provisions of the 10th of the aforementioned Resolution, which states that the temporary closure of the fishery will be carried out by resolution of the Director General of Fisheries Management, which will also be published on the website of the Department.
In its virtue, and through the present, the prohibition of fishing, on board and landing of specimens of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is agreed for the sport and recreational fishing modality, from the 00.00 on 8 July 2015, without prejudice to the subsequent lifting of the prohibition or its confirmation by resolution of the final closure of the fishery.
This resolution may be brought before the Secretary-General of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment in accordance with Articles 114 and 115 of the Law. 30/1992, of 26 November, of the Legal Regime of Public Administrations and of the Common Administrative Procedure.
