TEXT

The Governing Council of the University of A Coruña on December 22, 2009 approved the memory of the Graduate or Graduate Studies in Marine Engineering. This denomination was adopted for this title in principle by the Spanish universities that teach this degree. After this approval, the University began the necessary procedures to obtain the verification by the Council of Universities and the authorization of the Autonomous Community, resulting finally approved in the Council of Ministers of February 11 2011 (published in the "Official State Gazette", "BOE" of 16 March, by Resolution of the Secretary of State of Universities of 25 February 2011) and registered in the Register of Universities, Centres and Titles (RUCT). The corresponding curriculum was published in the "BOE" on April 18, 2011.

The Official College of Naval and Ocean Engineers brought an administrative dispute against the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 11 February 2011 establishing the official character of certain titles Degree and its registration in the Register of Universities, Centers and Titles. The judgment of the Supreme Court (Third Chamber, Section 4.) of 13 December 2013, in part, estimated that appeal. Requested clarification of the judgment of reference by the State Advocate, the Chamber delivered, dated 24 February 2014, Auto by which it agrees to fail to annul only as soon as they incorporated the title of the Engineering noun.

On April 23, 2014, the Director General of University Policy refers to a copy of the resolution of the General Directorate of University Policy, for which the judgment of the Supreme Court of 13 May is being complied with. December 2014 (Rec. Ordinary 286/2011) and which states that ' it has been annulled, with effect from 8 April 2014, by the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 11 February 2011 establishing the official character of certain degree titles and their registration in the Register of Universities, Centres and Titles as regards the degrees of Graduate or Graduate in Marine Engineering and Graduate or Graduate in Nautical Engineering and Maritime Transport by the University of A Coruña as soon as they incorporate their denomination the noun Engineering ".

In order to comply with this judgment of the Supreme Court, the University of A Coruña approved the change of title of the degree of Graduate or Graduate in Marine Engineering, by the graduate or Graduate in Marine Technologies by the agreement of its Governing Council of 30 September 2014, which obtained a favourable report from the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Galicia, dated 23 March 2015 and the authorisation of the Xunta de Galicia, by Order of the Consenelleria de Cultura, Educación e Orgación Universitaria, of 4 June 2015, published in the "Official Journal of Galicia" of 17 June 2015.

For the above, this Rectorate, pursuant to the provisions of Article 28.3 of Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, establishing the ordination of official university teaching, in the wording given by the Royal Decree 861/2010, of 2 July, amending the previous one, has resolved to order the publication of the aforementioned change of title of the degree of Graduate or Graduate in Marine Engineering by the Graduate or Graduate in Marine Technologies by the University of A Coruña, as well as the publication of the corresponding curriculum updated.

This resolution leaves no effect on the Rectoral Resolution dated 30 March 2011, for which the original plan of studies of the now amended title ("BOE" of 18 April 2011) was initially published.

A Coruña, July 16, 2015. -Rector, Xose Luis Armarto Barbeito.
