To all who present it and understand,

Sabed: That the General Courts have approved and I come to sanction the following Law:

Article first.

Spain will increase its share of the International Monetary Fund to the figure of 1.286 million special drawing rights, in accordance with the provisions of resolution number 38-1 adopted with effect from March 31, 2001. 1983 by the Board of Governors of the Agency and whose translation is annexed to this Law.

Article 2.

The payment by Spain of the amount of the increase in its quota, amounting to 450,500,000 special drawing rights, shall be made by 25 per 100 in special drawing rights and 75 per 100 remaining in pesetas, to be deposited in the accounts of the Fund.

Article 3.

The Bank of Spain is authorised, in accordance with Article 3. of Law 41/1901, of 15 November, to apply the special drawing rights, foreign currencies and pesetas that are necessary for the payment of the said quota increase.

For the purposes of the subscription authorised, the Bank of Spain shall carry out the tasks provided for in Article 4. of the Decree-Law of 4 July 1958.

Article 4.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance is authorized to take the necessary measures in order to arrange for the payment of the said quota increase in the International Monetary Fund, including the possibility of subscribing and releasing promissory notes and other non-interest securities, non-negotiable, and payable on demand and on a par to replace the disbursements in pesetas in accordance with Section 5 of Article III of the Convention.

Article 5.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance is empowered to adopt as many measures as are necessary for the implementation of the provisions of this Law.

Article 6.

This Law will enter into force the day after its publication in the Official Journal of the State.

Therefore,

I command all Spaniards, individuals and authorities, to keep and keep this Law.

RESOLUTION 38-1 OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND ON THE EIGHTH GENERAL REVIEW OF QUOTAS

As soon as the Board of Governors has submitted to the Board of Governors a report entitled "Increase in the quotas of the countries of the Eighth-Eighth General Review", which contains recommendations on the the quotas of the various countries Members of the Fund, and for how much the Executive Board has recommended the adoption of the following Resolution of the Board of Governors in which increases of the quotas of the countries Members of the Fund are proposed as a result of the eighth general review of quotas and certain related matters are regulated, voting without a meeting in accordance with Section 13 of the Statute of the Fund.

Therefore, the Board of Governors hereby resolves:

1. The International Monetary Fund proposes that, subject to the provisions of this Resolution, the quotas of the Fund's member countries will be increased to the amounts indicated in the Appendix to this Resolution.

2.
