Royal Decree 1223/1983 of 4 May, on measures to reorganize the peripheral administration of the State, provides for the need to restructure the peripheral services of the ministries that have transferred most of its functions to the Autonomous Communities by deleting the Provincial Directorates concerned by the transfers and the attachment of the units resulting from the reorganisation to the corresponding governments Civilians.

In application of the forecasts contained in the Royal Decree of reference and taking into account the volume of the functions and services transferred in matter of culture to the Autonomous Communities of Galicia, Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Baleares, Canarias, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Murcia, La Rioja and Comunidad Valenciana, it is necessary to abolish the Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Culture in the territorial area of the Communities.

In its virtue, on the proposal of the Minister of Culture, with the approval of the Presidency of the Government and after deliberation of the Council of Ministers at its meeting of July 4, 1984, I have:

Article 1. The Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Culture in La Coruña, Lugo, Orense, Pontevedra, Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Malaga, Seville, Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Oviedo, Baleares, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz, are deleted. de Tenerife, Santander, Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo, Avila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid, Zamora, Badajoz, Cáceres, Murcia, Logroño, Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

The following Local, Insular, and Special Delegations are also deleted:

Local Delegations of Santiago de Compostela, in La Coruña; Vigo, in Pontevedra; Jerez de la Frontera, in Cádiz; Gijón; in Oviedo, and Cartagena in Murcia.

Island Delegations of Menorca and Ibiza-Formentera, in the Balearic Islands; Lanzarote-Graciosa, Fuerteventura and La Palma, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Gomera and Hierro, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Special Delegation of the Campo de Gibraltar, in Cadiz.

Art. 2. By Order of the Ministry of the Presidency, jointly proposed by the Ministry of Culture and the Interior and Territorial Administration, the structure and functions of the peripheral services of the Ministry of Culture will be established. for transfers, as well as the articulation of their organic dependence with respect to the corresponding Civil Governments.

TRANSIENT DISPOSITION

Until so long as the Order referred to in Article 2 is given. of this Royal Decree, the administrative units dependent on the deleted Provincial Directorates will continue to exercise the functions and perform the services they have entrusted, as well as those who could be assigned to them.

The staff assigned to these units will continue to receive all of their remuneration from the credits they have been charged, until the new organic structure of the loans is approved and will be carried out corresponding budgetary changes.

FINAL PROVISIONS

First.-All provisions of equal or lower rank shall be repealed as opposed to the provisions of this Royal Decree.

Second.-This Royal Decree will enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the State.
