In order to facilitate a better and specialized knowledge of the increasingly complex fields of police activity, an advisory and support body is created.

In its virtue, and in the use of the powers conferred on me by the final disposition of Royal Decree 59/1987 of 16 January, amending Royal Decree 669/1984 of 28 March 1984 on the structure and functions of the State Security organs, after approval by the Minister for Public Administrations, I have:

First. -A new paragraph is added at the end of point 1, Central Organization, of the Order of the Ministry of the Interior of 17 February 1988, for the development of the organic structure and functions of the central services and peripherals of the Directorate-General of the Police, of the following literal wording:

1.13 Advisory Council: Permanent collegiate body of the Directorate-General of the Police, dependent on its holder, with the missions of advising, issuing reports, and elaborating studies on those matters which due to its special complexity or transcendence, he considers appropriate to submit to his knowledge and consideration in the police area, as well as to raise proposals on those matters which, for the same reasons and based on the experience and knowledge of its members, can In the improvement of the Organization.

It will be chaired by the Director-General and will be composed of sixteen members. Its members shall be appointed by that, on a proposal from the Governing Board, among officials of recognized professional prestige and special knowledge in the field of competence of the Management Center. One of its members, also appointed by the Director-General of the Police, will act as the Secretary of the Advisory Council.

The functioning of the Advisory Board will be in line with what is foreseen for the collegiate bodies in the regulations on the legal regime of the Public Administrations.

Second.-Paragraph 2.1 of the above order is worded as follows:

FINAL PROVISIONS

Third. This Order shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the State.
