TEXT

Regulation (EU) No 1379/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 on the common organisation of the market in fishery and aquaculture products is hereby amended as follows: Council Regulations (EC) No 1184/2006 and (EC) No 1224/2009 and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 104/2000, in its Chapter IV, regulates information for the consumer, laying down in Article 37 the obligation of the Member States to to draw up and publish a list of the trade names accepted in their respective territories, along with their scientific names. The second paragraph of Article 49 of that Regulation provides that Chapter IV shall apply from 13 December 2014. The above legislation continues to apply.

Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 104/2000 of 17 December 1999 establishing the Common Organisation of the Market in the field of fishery and aquaculture products provides that the Member States shall ensure that the Member States are responsible for the implementation of the common organisation of the market in fishery and aquaculture products. Member States shall establish and publish the list of trade names admitted to their territory at least for all species listed in Annexes I to IV to this Regulation. This list shall indicate in respect of each species the scientific name, the name in the official language (s) of the Member State and, where appropriate, the name (s) accepted or tolerated at local or regional level.

Member States of the European Union should notify the Commission of the list of trade names admitted to their territory.

During the year 2013 new species have been marketed in our market, as well as the simplification of the list, all of this makes it necessary to review the Resolution of 8 February 2013, of the General Secretariat of Fisheries for which the list of trade names of fishery and aquaculture species admitted in Spain is established and published in order to include the new amendments adopted and approved by the Commission Commercial Species Fisheries in Spain, approved by Order PRE/634/2004.

For all the above, and on a proposal from the Commission of Commercial Denominations of Fisheries Species in Spain,

This General Secretariat of Fisheries resolves:

First.

1. Establish the list of trade names of fishery species admitted in Spain.

2. The trade name shall be deemed to be an official name throughout the national territory. However, the different meanings of the commercial names listed and which have been recognized by the Autonomous Communities will be complementary to that one.

Second.

Give advertising to the list of commercial denominations of fishing species admitted in Spain by publication in the "Official State Gazette" as the only annex to this Resolution, which replaces the list in the Annex of the Resolution of 8 February 2013.

Madrid, March 31, 2014. -Secretary General of Fisheries Carlos Dominguez Diaz.
