The Organic Law 11/1983, of 25 August, of the University Reform, establishes that the budget of the universities will contain, in its state of income, among other concepts, the academic fees and other rights that are legally establish.

On the other hand, Law 8/1989, of 13 April, of Public Fees and Prices, gives the aforementioned fees the consideration of public prices.

According to these rules and taking into account the Order of 22 August 1996 ("Official State Gazette" of 28), which entrusts the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport with the approval of the price amount Public of the International University "Menéndez Pelayo", dependent on the General Administration of the State, as well as the Economic and Financial Memory referred to in Article 26.2 of the aforementioned Law 8/1989, elaborated according to the proposal of the Government Board of the University, by means of this Order the prices are updated to to satisfy the provision of academic services for the year 2001, at the University.

In its virtue, and under the habilitation conferred by Article 26.1 of Law 8/1989, of 13 April, of Fees and Public Prices, I have:

First. -Prices to be met by the provision of the public service of higher education at the International University "Menéndez Pelayo", in the studies leading to the obtaining of the titles and non-official diplomas This University is issued in 2001, will be paid in accordance with the rates set out in the Annex which are set out in this Order.

Second. This Order shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the "Official Gazette of the State".

The special rate will be applicable to courses and seminars that require it, on a proposal from the Director of the headquarters, and will not be eligible for discounts for other concepts.

The students resident in Cantabria will be made, at Santander's headquarters, a 10-for-100 discount on the tuition fee.

The staff, their spouses and direct descendants of the "Menéndez Pelayo" International University, as well as the residents of the "Las Llamas" Residence, provided there are vacant places, will be given a discount of 50%. per 100 in the price of the registration of the first course and 10 per 100 in the second and the following.
