Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August amending the Compulsory Secondary Education Curriculum set out in Royal Decree 1345/1991 of 6 September 1991, as amended and extended by Royal Decree 1390/1995, of On 4 August, it incorporates the minimum teachings which Royal Decree 34773/2000 of 29 December 2000 has adopted for compulsory secondary education, and which will be applicable in the centres in which these lessons are taught in the field of education. in the light of the changes in the minimum teaching and the curriculum of compulsory secondary education, an adaptation of the Order of 28 February 1996 was required, which gave instructions for the implementation of the (i) the term 'compulsory secondary education' and the conditions under which such an introduction should be carried out from the year 1996-1997, incorporating the amendments made to the minimum teaching and the curriculum Compulsory secondary education, respectively, by the Royal Decrees 894/1995, June 2, and 1390/1995, August 4.

Royal Decree 3473/2000 of 29 December 2000 sets out in Annex II the timetable corresponding to the minimum teaching requirements for compulsory secondary education and, in its unique transitional provision, the implementation of the from the 2001-2002 period. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, in application of the provisions of that Royal Decree, issued the Order of 23 July 2001 approving the new timetables for compulsory secondary education, as set out in Annex I to the Directive. This Order.

Also, in the aforementioned transitional provision, the implementation of the teaching in the academic year 2002-2003 in the first and third courses of the compulsory secondary education is determined and, in the academic year 2003-2004, in the second and fourth courses.

This Order therefore amends the order of 28 February 1996 and is intended to bring the teaching of secondary education into line with the provisions of Royal Decree 3473/2000 of 29 December 2000, for which it is establish the minimum teaching requirements for compulsory secondary education, include changes to the curriculum in Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August, and provide instructions for the new management of the teaching of Compulsory secondary education in the centres of the management of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Therefore, in the exercise of the authorization conferred by the final disposition of Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August, and after the opinion of the School Council of the State, I have arranged:

First. Amendment of the Order of 28 February 1996 giving instructions for the implementation of the teaching of compulsory secondary education.

This Order, which will be applicable in the centres in which the teaching of compulsory secondary education is taught within the management of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, modifies the following paragraphs of the Order of 28 February 1996 which are affected by Royal Decree 3473/2000 of 29 December 2000 laying down the minimum requirements for compulsory secondary education and for Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August 2000, establishing the Compulsory Secondary Education Curriculum.

1. The third paragraph is worded as follows:

" Third. The process of admission of pupils will be in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 366/1997 of 14 March, which regulates the system of choice of educational centre ("Official State Gazette" of 15) and the Order of 26 March 1997, which develops ("Official State Gazette" of 1 April). "

2. The sixth paragraph is worded as follows:

" Sixth. 1. The weekly schedule allocated to all areas and areas in the different courses of the stage shall be as set out in the Order of 23 July 2001 ("Official State Gazette" of 31), which is inserted in Annex I to this Order. All pupils will also have a weekly tutoring time.

2. For pupils who, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 (2), choose to pursue a second optional subject on a voluntary basis, the weekly timetable shall comprise two more hours for the delivery of this subject. '

3. The seventh paragraph is worded as follows:

" Seventh. 1. In the third and fourth courses the teaching of the area of Nature Sciences will be organized in two different subjects, "Biology and Geology" and "Physics and Chemistry". Their assessment and qualification shall be carried out separately, in accordance with the provisions of Article 6.4 of Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August. The third and third paragraphs of the Order of 23 April 1996 ("Official State Gazette" of 8 May 1996) shall be recorded in the third and third paragraphs of the Order of 23 April 1996.

2. In the fourth year, students will choose two of the following options: Biology and Geology; Physics and Chemistry; Plastic and Visual Education; Music and Technology.

3. For the teachings of the Spanish Language and Literature and of Mathematics, of the experimental subjects and of the foreign languages the groups with 25 students or more will be unfolded once a week to carry out practical activities.

4. The convalidations of the areas of Music and Physical Education for the students who simultaneously heal the teachings of special regime of Music and Dance will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Order of January 2, 2001 (" Official Journal of the State "of 6)."

4. The eighth paragraph is worded as follows:

" Eighth. The area of Mathematics, which will be attended by all students, in the fourth course will be organized in the two varieties provided for in Royal Decree 937/2001, of 3 August, which establishes the curriculum of compulsory secondary education. The Mathematics and Guidance departments will advise students on the most appropriate option according to their interests and expectations. "

5. Section no.2 is worded as follows:

" Ninth. 2. Pupils will pursue an optional subject in each course. However, subject to the conditions laid down in paragraph 1 (2) of this Order, they may be subject to a second optional subject. Once elected, they will not be able to change them during the course. "

6. The 11th paragraph is worded as follows:

" Eleventh. 1. In the first and second years, the student will be a Second Foreign Language.

However, in both courses, the Director of the Center may authorize as optional materials reinforcements of Spanish Language and Mathematics for those students who, in the light of the initial evaluation carried out by the Departments Didactic and documentation submitted by the primary schools, present learning difficulties in the basic instrumental areas. The General Secretariat for Vocational Education and Training will draw up the detailed instructions for the organisation of these training courses.

2. Students who are cured in the Second Foreign Language will be able to join their study on a voluntary basis, provided that the organisation of the centre allows it, with that of another optional subject, which in the third and fourth year must be of the required supply. This second optional subject shall, for all intents and purposes, have the same consideration as the other areas and areas. "

7. The twelfth paragraph is worded as follows:

" Twelfth. 1. The Second Foreign Language curriculum is approved in the Annex to Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August ("Official State Gazette" of 7 September), which establishes the compulsory secondary education curriculum.

2. The teachings of the Second Foreign Language have been programmed throughout the four courses to facilitate the continuity of the students.

However, those who have not previously been able to register for the third or fourth course may be enrolled in the third or fourth course, after a test conducted by the relevant Department of the Department of the linguistic competence to be incorporated in that course.

This circumstance must be stated in your academic records.

3. For students joining the Second Foreign Language in the second term, the relevant Department of Education will organize recovery activities so that they can follow these lessons properly.

4. In the third and fourth courses, the students will be able, in any case, to study the subject of Classical Culture as an option. The curriculum of this subject is set out in the Annex to Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August ("Official State Gazette" of 7 September).

5. The objective of vocational initiation is to make it easier for students to transition to active life and their vocational orientation through a provision of basic content and introduction to the field of vocational training. (a) specific vocational training. These subjects will be programmed for the third and fourth courses of the stage and the students will be able to pursue them either in one or both.

6. The other optional subjects shall be programmed for development along a course. However, the centres may offer the same optional subject matter in different courses for those pupils who have not previously completed it. "

8. Paragraph 15 is read as follows:

" 14th. 1. The centres shall not require prior authorisation to carry out the optional subjects listed in Annex II to this Order. '

9. The 19th paragraph is worded as follows:

" Nineteenth. In general, the programmes for curricular diversification will last for two years. However, one year diversification programmes may be established for pupils who are enrolled after having completed a fourth year or for those who, by reason of age, can only remain in compulsory secondary education. during one more course. "

10. Paragraph 20 is worded as follows:

" Twenty-one. 1. The curriculum diversification programmes will include specific areas, which will be organised in two areas, the linguistic-social and the scientific-technological. The linguistic-social field will develop content, appropriately selected, from the area of Spanish Language and Literature, from the area of Social Sciences, Geography and History, and from the subject of Ethics. The scientific-technological field will be elaborated with selected contents of the subjects of Biology and Geology, Physics and Chemistry, and Mathematics. This scope may also include contents of the Technology area, in which case its schedule will be extended in two hours.

2. The diversification programme shall be supplemented by three areas or subjects of the common curriculum, suitably adapted, different from those in the specific areas, and which, in the opinion of the educational team and the Department of Guidance, shall be adapt better to the characteristics and needs of the student. One of them will necessarily be Foreign Language and other Technology, if it is not included in the scientific-technological field. In this case, four areas or areas will be selected instead of three. The programme shall also include an optional subject, the general offer of the centre or specifically designed, so that the final configuration of the programme meets overall the general objectives of the compulsory secondary education and its contents keep the necessary balance. "

11. The additional second provision is worded as follows:

" Additional Disposition Second.

Teachers who teach in the first cycle of Compulsory Secondary Education at Institutes of Secondary Education will be enrolled in the teaching departments of these centers depending on the area or areas that (a) provide for the following, as set out in Annex III. '

12. The following additional provisions are incorporated:

" Additional provision fourth. Integration of non-Spanish-speaking students.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport will be able to adapt the programs and schedules of the teachings of Spanish Language and Literature to encourage the integration of non-Spanish speakers. "

" Additional disposal fifth. Allocation of powers.

1. The references that are made to the General Directorate of Pedagogical Renewal in this Order should be understood as being made to the Directorate General for Territorial Cooperation and High Inspection.

2. References to the Provincial Directorates shall be construed as references to the General Secretariat for Educational Action in relation to the centres covered by the Convention between the Ministries of Defence and Education, Culture and Sport, located in the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia and Galicia and the Spanish private initiative centres providing compulsory secondary education abroad.

3. For Spanish centres abroad, the references made to the Education Inspectorate will be understood as being made to the Education Inspectorate of the Department integrated in the General Education Action Subdirectorate. "

13. The following transient arrangement is incorporated:

" Transient disposition octave. Teaching of Informatics.

Taking into account that the technology programmes, which are compulsory in the first, second and third courses and optional in the fourth, broadly include the contents of the optional subject matter of Informatics, it will be offered for the last time in the course of 2002-2003 and only for fourth-year students who have not completed it in the third. "

14. The following repeal provision is incorporated:

" Repeal provision. Replacement of regulations.

Annexes I, II, III, IV and V to the Order of 28 February 1996 are replaced by Annexes I, II and III which are inserted in this Order. ' 15. The final first provision is worded as follows:

" Final Disposition first. Faculty for the application of this Order.

1. The General Secretariat for Vocational Education and Training may, in the field of its powers, adopt as many measures as are necessary for the implementation of the provisions of this Order.

2. The Technical General Secretariat, in the field of its powers, may establish the appropriate measures for the application of the content of this Order in the Spanish centres abroad which, under Royal Decree 1027/1993, of 25 June ("Official State Gazette" of 16 August), they provide compulsory secondary education. "

16. The second final provision is worded as follows:

" Final Disposition Second. Entry into force.

The implementation of this Order will be carried out as follows: The new management of the teaching will enter into force in the academic year 2002-2003 for the first and third courses and, in the academic year 2003-2004, for the second and fourth courses, as set out in Royal Decree 937/2001 of 3 August ("Official State Gazette" of 7 September). "

Second. This Order shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the "Official State Gazette".
