The Organic Law 6/2001, of 21 December, of Universities, establishes that the budget of the Universities will contain, in its state of income, among other concepts, the public prices for academic services and other rights legally to be established.

The additional provision of the aforementioned law reflects the character of the autonomous body of the Menéndez Pelayo International University, and its subjection to the regulations of the autonomous organizations, to the provisions of the Law Organic 6/2001 to be applied to it and to the corresponding Staff Regulations.

The Statute of the Menéndez Pelayo International University, approved by Royal Decree 331/2002 of 5 April 2002, refers to the budget and the economic resources and assets of the institution, including the income to be provided by the teaching or training provided by the students in their residences.

Law 8/1989, of 13 April, of Fees and Public Prices, in the wording given by Law 25/1998, of July 13, of modification of the Legal Regime of State and Local Rates and of Reordering of the Heritage Benefits Article 26 (1) (b) states that the establishment or modification of the amount of public prices shall be made directly by the public bodies, subject to the authorization of the ministerial department of which they are dependent.

By the Menéndez Pelayo International University, it has been planned to update the prices of their license plates, the examination rights to adapt them to the real costs and the prices for accommodation and maintenance in their Residences as a result of the new and better services provided.

The requested authorization is recommended and therefore, on a proposal from the Rector of the International University of Menéndez Pelayo, I have: The International University of Menéndez Pelayo is authorized to modify the amount of the prices to be met by the provision of the public service of higher education in the studies leading to the acquisition of the non-official diplomas and diplomas issued in 2003, which will be paid in accordance with the rates laid down specified in the Annex.

ANNEX

I. Courses, seminars and meetings to be held at all venues

Criteria: Same rates as in 2002: Matriculation of course type A: 110 euros.

Type B course registration: EUR 140.

Tuition of course type C: 185 euros.

Type D course registration: 290 euros.

Type E course registration: EUR 450.

Type F-Special course registration: 60 euros.

The special rate will be applicable to courses and seminars that require it, on a proposal from the Director of the teaching center, and will never be, applied the discounts, less than 55 euros.

The students resident in Cantabria will be made, at the headquarters of Santander, a discount of 10 per 100 in the price of the tuition.

Students enrolled in the Universities that have signed agreements with this University on credit recognition will be applied a discount of 50 per 100.

The staff, their spouses and direct descendants of the "Menéndez Pelayo" International University, as well as the residents of the Las Llamas Residency whenever there are vacant places, will be given a 50 percent discount. 100 in the first course tuition fee and 10 per 100 in the second and next.
