The city of Ushuaia, the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, is located in the extreme south of Argentina. The total of the province is separated from the rest of Argentina by an arm of the sea, with some 140,000 inhabitants, of which 50,000 live in Ushuaia. The province of Tierra del Fuego is important in oil and gas fields and tourism has been increased by the natural beauties of the region. There are also investments of Spanish origin in the oil and fishing activities. Therefore, on the initiative of the Directorate General of the Foreign Service, in accordance with the proposal formulated by the Embassy of Spain in Buenos Aires and prior to the favorable report of the Directorate General for Consular and Consular Affairs Dirección General de Política Exterior para Iberoamérica, I have had to dispose:

First. -An Honorary Consular Office is created in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego province, Argentina, with a category of Honorary Viceconsumer, with jurisdiction in the Departments of Rio Grande and Ushuaia of the province of Tierra del Fire, Antarctic and South Atlantic Islands and dependent on the Consulate General of Spain in Bahia Blanca.

Second.-The Head of this Honorary Consular Office shall have, in accordance with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24 April 1963, a category of Honorary Vice-Consul.
