The President of the Republic, pursuant to the Constitution;
Having regard to Decree No. 2013 - 1218 September 1, 2013 appointing the Prime Minister;
Having regard to Decree No. 2013 - 1223 of September 2, 2013 on the composition of the Government.
Having regard to Decree No. 2013-1225, 4 September 2013 on the distribution of the services of the State and control of public institutions, national companies and companies with public participation between the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister's Office and ministries;
On the proposal of the Prime Minister.
Decrees: Article 1. -Under the authority of the Prime Minister, the Minister of hydraulics and sanitation prepares and implements the policy defined by the head of State in the areas of water and sanitation.
He is responsible for the drinking water supply of rural, urban and peri-urban populations. It is responsible for implementing, operation and maintenance of hydraulic structures.
It is responsible for the definition and application of tariff policies on drinking water supply. It ensures the supervision of the national water company of Senegal (SONES) and of the Société des Eaux (SDE).
It also promotes the national hydrographic potential and ensures the availability of water for the satisfaction of the needs of agriculture, on the national territory.
It is responsible for the achievement and preservation of the national hydrographic network. It ensures the supervision of the Agency of the national hydrographic network and the Office of Lac de Guiers.
He is responsible for the policy of sanitation and in synergy with the Minister in charge of the restructuring and development of flood areas, participates in the development of networks of drainage water of rain and the achievement of development y related.
It ensures the achievement and maintenance of equipment for the collection, disposal and treatment of waste water and rainwater. For this purpose, it ensures the supervision of the national Office for sanitation of Senegal (ONAS).
As such, it ensures the collection, transportation and recycling of household and industrial liquid waste.
S. 2. - the Prime Minister and the Minister of hydraulics and sanitation are responsible, each in relation to the implementation of this Decree which shall be published in the Official Journal is in Dakar, September 23, 2013, by the President of the Republic: Macky SALL.
