Decree No. 2013 - 1263 of 23 September 2013 Decree No. 2013-1263 of 23 September 2013 on the powers of the Minister of health and Social Action.

The President of the Republic, pursuant to the Constitution;

Having regard to Decree No. 2013 - 1218 September 1, 2013 appointing the Prime Minister;

Having regard to Decree No. 2013 - 1223 of September 2, 2013 on the composition of the Government.

Having regard to Decree No. 2013-1225, 4 September 2013 on the distribution of the services of the State and control of public institutions, national companies and companies with public participation between the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister's Office and ministries;
On the proposal of the Prime Minister.

Decrees: Article 1. -Under the authority of the Prime Minister, the Minister of health and Social Action prepares and implements the policy defined by the head of State in the field of health, prevention, hygiene and social action.
As such, he is responsible to make quality health care accessible to all Senegalese people, whether they live in urban or rural area.

It encourages the training of doctors and health personnel and facilitates their establishment in areas that are lacking.
It ensures the supply of quality drugs and coverage of the health needs of the population. It ensures the supervision of public health facilities and ensure their smooth operation.

It is responsible for preparing and implementing the legislation and regulations relating to medical, paramedical and pharmaceutical professions.
It shall take necessary steps regarding the practice of prevention in all establishments and its inclusion in the curriculum of school education.
He encouraged doctors and nurses to practice, in addition to the consultations and care, effective preventive action. It facilitates the implementation of vaccination policies.

It develops actions of prevention aimed at the dissemination of models of behaviour to avoid the development of certain diseases. It pays particular attention to the protection of the health of women, children, workers and elderly or handicapped persons.
Under the Social Action, providing assistance to the chronically ill and vulnerable groups.

S. 2. - the Prime Minister and the Minister of health and Social Action are responsible, each in relation to the implementation of this Decree which shall be published in the Official Journal.
