Law n ° 2013-09 of 28 December 2013 extending the mandates of regional councillors, municipal councillors and rural councillors elected on 22 March 2009.

EXPOSE REASONS
Senegal has just launched a new and important territorial and local administrative reform called Act III of decentralization.

To prepare and lead this reform, to carry out the consultations necessary for its proper appropriation by the stakeholders concerned and to integrate the new legislative and regulatory texts which will result in the legal ordering of the reform. Our country, the postponement of the date of local elections is necessary.

As the mandate of the regional, municipal and rural councillors expires on 22 March 2014, it is therefore essential to legally extend the activities of local executives and their legislative organs so as to enable them to ensure regularly Continuity of local public service.

The purpose of this bill is to extend the mandate of regional councillors, municipal councillors and rural councillors to June 29, 2014.

The National Assembly adopted, at its meeting on Thursday 19 December 2013,
The President of the Republic enacts the following legislation:

Sole Article. -The mandate of the regional councillors, municipal councillors and rural councillors elected on 22 March 2009 is extended to 29 June 2014.
This Law shall be enforced as the law of the State.
