RUSSIAN FEDERATION FEDERAL LAW On ratification of the International Convention for the Suppression of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism , adopted by the State Duma on 15 September 2006. Approved by the Federation Council on 25 September 2006 ratify the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, signed on behalf of the Russian Federation in the City of New York on 14 September 2005 (hereinafter referred to as the Convention), (...) Article 9, paragraph 3, of the Convention states that it has jurisdiction over acts recognized as criminal under article 2 of the Convention in the cases provided for in article 9, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Convention; (2) The Russian Federation proceeds from that the provisions of article 16 of the Convention should be applied in such a way as to ensure the inevitability of liability for the commission of offences under the Convention, without prejudice to the effectiveness of international cooperation in the area of Issues of extradition and legal assistance.
